Remove blank pages from PDF

Scanning both sides of single-sided sheets leaves an empty page after every other one. Each page is measured for ink and the blank ones are marked for removal, shown for you to check and correct before anything is deleted. Scanner edges and punch-hole shadows are ignored, and the sensitivity decides whether a lone page number still counts as content.

Frequently asked questions

How does it decide that a page is blank?

Each page is rendered small and its dark pixels counted. A scanner's grey texture and a pale background don't count; ink does. By default the outer 8 % of the sheet is left out, since a blank sheet from a scanner often carries a black strip or a punch-hole shadow along the edge, and a page number in the footer isn't content worth keeping a page for. The sensitivity sets how much ink still passes as blank.

Will it delete a page I want to keep?

Not without showing you first. Every blank page is marked in the preview before anything is removed; click a mark to keep the page, or mark one the detector missed. A hand decision stays when you change the sensitivity.

Does removing pages change the rest of the file?

No. Pages are removed in place, so bookmarks, links, form fields and page labels of the remaining pages survive. A file whose every page is blank is left alone: a PDF must keep at least one page.

Is the PDF uploaded?

Nothing is uploaded: the file is opened and processed inside your browser and never leaves your device. Close the tab and it is gone.
