What is Bates numbering?
A fixed-length identifier stamped on every page of a document production - a prefix plus a zero-padded number such as ABC000123 - so any page can be cited unambiguously. It is standard in legal discovery.
Does numbering continue across several files?
Yes. Add the files in order and the sequence runs on from one to the next; the first and last identifier of the whole set are shown before you save, ready for the production log.
Are the documents uploaded?
Nothing is uploaded: the file is opened and processed inside your browser and never leaves your device. Close the tab and it is gone. That matters when the documents are privileged.
Can I set the prefix, digits and position?
Prefix and suffix are free text, the digit count is adjustable (six is the convention), and the stamp can sit at any of nine positions in the font, size and colour you choose.
