Is my PDF uploaded to a server when I merge it?
Nothing is uploaded: the file is opened and processed inside your browser and never leaves your device. Close the tab and it is gone.
Can I change the order of the files before merging?
Yes - drag the file cards into the order you want, or sort them by name, page count or size. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom.
Do bookmarks and page labels survive the merge?
Each file's outline can be kept under a bookmark named after the file, and the original page labels can be preserved instead of renumbering everything 1..N. A separator page or a table of contents can be added too.
What is "alternate mix" for?
For two-sided scans made with a one-sided scanner: one file holds the odd pages, the other the even ones, and alternate mix interleaves them page by page into the right reading order.
