PDF to Excel

Pick the pages and the tables come out as a workbook: each row a row, each column a column, an amount a number the sheet can sum - `20 813` and `2,2560` alike - and bold kept. An invoice, a price list, a statement opens in Excel ready to work with. Everything runs in your browser; the file never leaves your device.

The tables read off the page - numbers as numbers, so the sheet can add them up.

Frequently asked questions

How does it find the tables?

A PDF has no tables, only words at places on the page - so the tool reads them off the geometry: words on one line with a clear gap between them are cells side by side, lines of such cells one under another are a table, and the columns are where the cells stack. A subtotal or a row label on its own line stays in the table. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Which tables come out well?

Ruled and unruled tables with one line per cell - invoices, price lists, statements, reports. A cell that wraps onto two lines comes out as two rows, and two columns set very close together can land in one cell; check the Tables view before saving. A table without a text layer - a scan - needs OCR first.

Are the numbers real numbers?

Yes: `20 813`, `1,0000`, `2.256,50` and `1,234.5` all become number cells with the decimals they were written with, so a column can be summed. Dates, codes and identifiers longer than eleven digits stay text.

Why one sheet per page?

So the sheet reads like the page: a page's tables share one column grid built from where their columns sit, so an invoice's header block stands over its item table and the amounts fall under the amounts, with the column widths following the page. Choose one sheet per table to get each table on its own, starting at column A.
