How do I get the images out of a PDF?
Open the PDF, keep every page selected or pick a few, and save. Each embedded picture becomes its own file, named after the file and the page it sits on; more than one comes as a ZIP.
Do the pictures keep their original quality?
Yes. A JPEG stored in the PDF leaves byte for byte - the exact file the author put in, with no recompression. Other formats are decoded losslessly into PNG, transparency included.
Why does a scanned page count as one image?
Because it is one: a scanner saves the whole page as a single picture. Use PDF to Image if you want a page rendered as it looks, including its text.
Is the PDF uploaded?
Nothing is uploaded: the file is opened and processed inside your browser and never leaves your device. Close the tab and it is gone.
