Frequently asked questions

Why do some viewers still show the old title after other tools change it?

A PDF states its properties twice: in the Info dictionary and, when the producing application wrote one, in an XMP packet - and Acrobat trusts the XMP when both exist. This tool writes every field to both and removes an emptied field from both, so the viewers agree.

Can I strip all metadata before sharing a document?

Yes: Clear all empties every field - title, author, subject, keywords, application and creation date - and the file is saved without them. The producer reads MammothPDF and the modification date is the time of saving; nothing else about you is written.

Does it change the pages?

No. Only the document's properties are written; the pages, bookmarks, links and forms are untouched.

Is the PDF uploaded?

Nothing is uploaded: the file is opened and processed inside your browser and never leaves your device. Close the tab and it is gone.
