How to delete pages from a PDF: a step-by-step guide

Delete Pages takes the pages you don't need out of a PDF - a blank sheet, an old cover, the pages that belong to someone else. You mark them on the thumbnails and see before saving exactly what goes. The rest of the file stays as it was. It all happens in your browser; the file is never uploaded.

Add the file

Drop the PDF anywhere on the page, or press Add files. Its pages appear in the middle as thumbnails. A Word, Excel or PowerPoint file or a photo works too - it is turned into a PDF as it arrives.

Mark the pages to remove

Click a thumbnail to mark that page, or drag across several. A marked page fades, gets a dashed red edge and a Delete label; click it again to keep it after all. The line under the button counts the pages that go.

The bar above the thumbnails marks pages for you:

All, Invert - every page, or swap the marked and unmarked ones (mark the few pages you keep, then invert);
Odd, Even - one side of a two-sided scan, such as the empty backs;
Landscape, Portrait - the pages that lie one way;
Every Nth - every second, third… page;
the range field - page numbers and ranges such as "3, 6, 10-12", or "10-" for page 10 to the end, applied with Enter.

A PDF needs at least one page: a file with every page marked is left out of the run, and the file list marks it with ⚠.

Delete and save

Press Delete pages. The shorter file is saved to your device at once; the button then says Saved and turns into Save, which saves the same file again. Any change to the marks turns it back into Delete pages.

The pages are really removed, not hidden: their text and pictures go out of the file, so it gets smaller too. Bookmarks, links and form fields on the pages you keep stay where they were.

Several files at once

Add several PDFs to clean them all in one run; more than one result is saved as a ZIP. Above the file list, Apply to decides how:

Selected file - you mark the pages of the file selected in the list; each file keeps its own marks.
All files - one rule by page position for every file: "page 1" (the cover of every document), "every even page", "the landscape pages". A file shorter than the rule is clamped and marked ⚠ in the list.

Limits

Without an account, and with a free one, you can work on two files in a run, each up to 15 MB. With Pro there is no limit on the number or the size, and you can save a rule such as "every even page" as a preset.
