How to remove a password from a PDF: a step-by-step guide

Seda juhendit pole veel eesti keeles, seetõttu kuvatakse see inglise keeles. Tööriist ise töötab eesti keeles.
Unlock PDF makes a copy of a PDF without its protection, so you no longer have to type the password every time - or can print and copy a file that forbade it. Two kinds of protection are handled: a password to open (you need to know it) and restrictions only (they come off without one). Everything happens in your browser; neither the file nor the password is sent anywhere.

Lühidalt
- Drop your PDFs on the page, or press Add files.
- Click a file marked Password needed and type its password.
- Files that are only Restricted need nothing - they are unlocked as they are.
- Press Unlock PDF: the unlocked copies are saved to your device straight away.
Add the files
Drop the PDFs anywhere on the page, or press Add files. Each file is checked on arrival, and the list says what kind of protection it has:
- Password needed (in red, with a lock) - the file doesn't open without its password;
- Restricted - it opens, but printing, copying or editing is blocked;
- Not protected - nothing to remove; it is left out of the run.

Type the password
Click a file marked Password needed - in the list, or Enter password in the middle - and type its password. The eye shows what you typed. A wrong password says so, and you can try again.

Once the password is right, the file is marked Unlocked, its pages appear and the rail counts it among the files ready to save.

Unlock and save
Press Unlock PDF. The line under the button counts the files that will be unlocked; a file still waiting for its password stays out, and the line under it says so. The unlocked copies are saved to your device at once, several together as a ZIP; the button then says Saved and turns into Save. Your original files stay as they were.
Only use this on files you own or are allowed to unlock. Without the password a protected file can't be opened here either - there is no way around a password to open.
Limits
Without an account, and with a free one, you can unlock two files in a run, each up to 15 MB. With Pro there is no limit on the number or the size.
What next?
- A different password, or new permissions? Protect PDF.
- A file that won't open at all, password or not? Repair PDF.
- Too big now that you can work with it? Compress PDF.
